LENS MATERIALS |
When we choose the lenses, there are always many kinds, and the basic differences among different lenses, is the material, in general, the lens material could be classified into the following ones.
Hard Resin: Hard Resin is a kind of plastic, and now it is the most widely used lens in the world. Being the replacement for the mineral lens, it is lighter and stronger, and for its weakness of soft, which is susceptible to scratching, it is solved by Coating, so it makes it more comfortable to wear.
Polycarbonate:Polycarbonate is a special kind of plastic, it is accepted for some material in the aircraft like windows, so it’s easy to see that it is very strong to face the impact, and it’s the now the most impact-resistance lens material. Also it has the UV protection. PC lens is most used for sportswear and children.
High Index Plastic:Advanced type of Hard Resin lens, It is thinner, lighter, and pre-treated with UV protection, and performance also good in Abbe Value, which make it comfortable to wear as well as nice looking.
Glass:It is the original ophthalmic lens material, which is now still very popular in some area, for its high transmittance and anti-scratches performance. Especially near the desert area, where the wind blows with sands, the mineral lens is still the best choice for daily use.

LENS TYPES
|
There’re different designs for lens, which could fit for different people demand, and below is the basic design of the lens.
Single Vision Lens: Most popular one, it has one power to correct one vision problem, either distance or near vision. Single
Bifocal Lens:The bifocal design is used for correct both near and far vision. There is a segment of powers on the lens for near vision, and the rest of the lens is for distance. For the people who have demand for both near and for vision correction, Bifocal lens is a good choice.
Progressive Lenses:The progressive lens is designed for full vision correction in all distance, near, medium and far, and powers for different parts gradually changes, it could make comfort experience when you change your distance view, by moving your eyeball up and down, you’ll easily get the right power to see.
Photochromic lenses:Photochromic lenses are clear indoors and automatically darken when exposed to sunlight and gives eye relief in bright light. Generally, the rate of colour change is rapid in tropical temperatures and darker during colder climates. Our photochromic lenses help to protect the wearers’ eyes from harmful UV rays and at the same time reduce unwanted eye strain.
Spin Coat Technology:Spin Coat Technology is a new innovative manufacturing technique which is essentially a photochromic layer on the top surface of the lens. The traditionally in-mass method is produced by mixing the photochromic dyes to the lens monomer. Under the traditional method, only 1.56 and 1.60 lens indexes are available. This new spin coat technology allows manufacturers the flexibility to offer more lens indexes with photochromic features as compared to the traditional in-mass method. Through this innovative technology, we are now able to offer Single Vision in both finished and Semi-Finished for indexes 1.50, 1.56, 1.60 and 1.67. The colours are available in grey or brown.
The base tint is kept at a low of 3% to maintain the clarity of the lens and provide a comfortable darkness of 85% after activation.
UV420:UV420 is a clear lens which intercepts ultra violet rays and high energy visible light at 400nm to 500nm in the visible spectrum. The high energy blue light is emitted from common digital devices like television, tablet computer, and mobile phones. This safety feature is extremely important as it protects the eyes from cataracts and age related macular degeneration which is commonly associated with UV and HEV light. The UV420 lenses do not affect natural vision and there is no other better way to protect your eyes to maintain long term visual health.

LENS TREATMENTS
|
To improve the lens for daily use, some treatments can be done for the lens improvement.
Hard Coating For the lens made from plastic, due to the material specification, it is soft and easily scratched, and Hard Coating is a very simple and effective way to increase the lens hardness, which makes it could work in the normal daily use.
Hard Multi-Coating It is also called Anti-Reflective coating when the EMI coating is also included. Apparently HMC is worth deserving for the following reason, with the thin, multi-layer film applied to the surface of the lens, it increases the transmittance of of visible light to the eye by 8-12%, which improves the eye view experience, and also the EMI coating could help to absorb the electromagnetic interference, with this function, it could protect the computer users from their daily eye use.
Super-hydrophobic Coating It is an advanced HMC coating, the most physical performance is the slip lens surface, and it is water-repellent and oil-repellent. With this function the lens could stay cleaner.
Tint Colorful Glass can be not only fashionable, but also good for the visual health by reducing glare and relieving eyestrain. There are many colors to choose including blue, green, gray, brown, amethyst and more, Also you could prefer the solid color, or gradient color, even different colors in the same lens.
Polarized Lenses With a polarized film inside the lens, it could eliminate glare by filtering out horizontal rays of light, it could protect the eye 100% from UV rays, and by eliminating reflections form water, bright white snow, windows and road surface, that all makes polarized lens the most functional lens which is highly preferred for driving, fishing and skiing.
